When we last left off with Cam on All American, the talented and cocky football player told the audience to stay tuned for where he’d be playing college ball. During All American: Homecoming‘s premiere we received our answer as it was revealed that he signed on to be a Bringston Lion.
Spoilers ahead of All American: Homecoming episode 2
Unfortunately, it looks like his college football career is in jeopardy thanks to the events of episode 2, “Under Pressure.” With move-in weekend out of the way and classes in full swing, our cast of characters are learning to juggle their athletic responsibilities with their schoolwork.
It’s a bit of a steep curve for Simone who’s had one thing after another getting in her way when it comes to both school and tennis. For Cam, however, it’s been smooth sailing. He knows exactly what his place is at Bringston as one of the school’s freshman stars. Or, he did.
A pick-up game of basketball, may be his undoing.
What happened to Cam on All American: Homecoming?
When Simone, Damon, Nate, and Keisha’s study session turns into a kickback, it’s a chance for everyone to unwind during a stressful week. Cam’s game of choice is basketball during the hangout session but, as is typical with his character, his arrogant streak gets the better of him.
After going up against an opponent on the court, he’s fouled by said player and cracks his head rather hard. Upon getting an examination done, Cam’s told that he has a brain aneurysm and can’t play contact sports.
Not only does this put Cam’s football career in jeopardy, it also could seriously hinder his ability to remain at Bringston considering he’s there to play football. However, his health is what’s most important. When the choice is between living and figuring out next steps and dying just to fulfill a dream, it seems like his choice is simple. But, we’ll have to wait and see if there’s a way for Cam to play football again despite his diagnosis. We doubt this is the end of his football career.
