The Flash season 8 returned to The CW with a midseason premiere that put Barry and Iris’ children, Bart and Nora, in the driver’s seat of the plot. “Impulsive Excessive Disorder” was light on the two leads of the series but the episode nonetheless was one of the best of show.
Now that viewers have been reunited with Team Flash, we’ll be speeding right into the main plot of the story. Yes, it’ll be informed by the events of the Armageddon crossover event. However, there’s also elements from last season that will crop up as well.
For instance, Iris’ time sickness. That storyline had been put on the back burner for the first five episodes of season 8, but it’ll be coming back in a very serious way as we progress through the season. As a reminder, Iris’ illness has been kept under control by Dion aka the Still Force. That, however, was only meant to be a temporary fix.
With the story picking up where it left off with that storyline, we’ll definitely be reliving the past as a focus on timelines takes center stage. We’re in for quite the ride with season 8 both emotionally and with our usual fare of superhero action.

When are new episodes of The Flash season 8 on The CW?
Unfortunately, The Flash has been bumped from the Tuesday night slot on The CW. While Flash Tuesdays have been a longstanding tradition on the network, 2022 has ushered in the era of Super Tuesdays with Superman and Lois claiming the 8 p.m. airtime that the scarlet speedster once had.
Team Flash has now taken over Wednesdays at 8 p.m. with Kung Fu airing after the show like it did last TV season. Our sister site Bam Smack Pow reports that The Flash season 8 will have a total of 18 episodes.
