After nearly a five-year absence, Bruce Wayne finally returns to theaters around the world in The Batman. With a theatrical release scheduled for Mar. 4, when will the film be available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD?
Director Matt Reeves helms his version of Batman, which takes place approximately two years into Wayne’s vigilante career. Batman must take down The Riddler, who targets and kills the people of Gotham. As Wayne gets further into the investigation, he soon learns that Gotham is more corrupt than expected.
Robert Pattinson is the latest actor to wear the black cape as he steps into the role for Ben Affleck, who last played the character in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Alongside Pattinson are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Edward Nashton/Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot / Penguin.
The Batman is set to storm the box office and register the highest opening weekend of 2022 with a projected gross of over $100 million. Because of the character’s popularity as well as the pandemic, many fans want to know when they can physically own a copy of the film.
The Batman Blu-ray and DVD release date
As of Mar. 2, there is no Blu-ray and DVD release date. Movies typically end up on Blu-ray and DVD anywhere from three to four months after the release. Amazon India currently lists the film to be released around July 31, 2022.
Despite an unknown release date, fans will not have to wait too long to watch the film at home. They will have to only wait until April as The Batman will be available to stream on HBO Max 45 days after its release.
