Woke season 2 is officially here! The first season was released in September 2020, and it’s nearly been a two year wait for the Hulu series to return, but the second season finally dropped this morning on April 8.
In the first season Woke follows the story of Keef Knight, a black cartoonist on the verge of mainstream success. He likes to stay away from taking controversial stances with his art. But, after he’s racially profiled by policemen, he realizes that approach won’t work anymore. And, oh yeah, he can see and hear inanimate objects speaking to him. You know, the usual.
For someone who didn’t want to focus on these issues, Keef’s now in the center of it. Season 2 finds him as a popular activist on the rise. Being “woke” has also become big business. He and his friends will be tested – is it about making a change or is it just about the money?
The original cast members from the first season are back to reprise their roles, as well as the exciting addition of Lucifer star Aimee Garcia! Who’s ready for Woke season 2? I certainly am!
Does Woke season 2 release weekly or is it a binge-watch?
Great news! If you’re ready for more Woke then you’re getting it. All eight episodes of the new season are now streaming on Hulu. I’m sure it’s no coincidence that the streaming service dropped the new episodes on a Friday. That will motivate people to sit down and dutifully zip through the season over the weekend. I, for one, will be doing just that!
If you’re a professional binge-watcher, it won’t be difficult to finish the season. The episodes on average are all between 20-25 minutes long. That’s a breeze. But if you like to enjoy a season and pace yourself, you won’t be getting any judgement here!
