MasterChef has returned with a very exciting season, MasterChef: Back to Win, which features previous contestants back for another chance at the title (and cash prize of $250,000). Do you have a favorite chef you’re rooting for this season? Who went home tonight? Spoilers ahead as we reveal which chef was eliminated in MasterChef: Back to Win episode 1.

It’s great seeing some of our favorite contestants from previous seasons returning to compete! Some returned with improved cooking skills, others not so much. In the premiere episode, six aprons were handed out, so six chefs are coming back. There are 14 more aprons available, so there are still many eliminations ahead. For now, let’s focus on the eliminations from episode 1.
Who was eliminated on MasterChef: Back to Win episode 1?
They all tried their best and the pressure was stronger than ever as there aren’t always second chances. Unfortunately, only six contestants are moving to round two. Here’s who went home tonight, May 25:
- Lindsay (from season 9) failed to impress the judges with her Chicken & Dumplings.
- Julia’s (from season 9) Italian Almond Cake looked delicious! Unfortunately, the judges thought otherwise.
- Wuta (from season 10) has been eliminated, and it’s disappointing! He prepared a Shrimp Burger for the judges, but it just didn’t taste as good as other meals.
- Lexy (from season 11) prepared Pan Seared Scallops for the judges and it did not stand out from the rest.
- Adrien’s (from season 2) dish was also not impressive, according to the judges.
- Natasha (from season 4) was eliminated as well, and, to be honest, this elimination wasn’t too surprising.
