When is A Charlie Brown Christmas coming to PBS in 2021?

Christmas time is here which means everyone’s making their way through their favorite holiday specials and movies whether that means watching them live, streaming them, or breaking out a DVD or Blu-Ray.

One timeless classic that we love here at Hidden Remote is A Charlie Brown Christmas. Like its Halloween and Thanksgiving counterparts, the Peanuts special has been a staple of the holiday season for decades.

Every year, since 1965, families have gathered around together to watch Charlie Brown and his friends celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. When Apple TV+ acquired the exclusive streaming rights to the Peanuts specials in 2020, and there initially weren’t plans to air them on television, it seemed like it would be the end of an era.

However, thanks to backlash, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas did return to television through a deal Apple struck with PBS. This holiday season that deal has come through again and families can enjoy the Peanuts Christmas special together as usual.

What time is A Charlie Brown Christmas coming to PBS in 2021?

A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET on PBS and PBS Kids. The special will not air again, so if you miss it on television you’ll have to catch it on Apple TV+ along with the other Peanuts specials.

As there has been no news on whether Apple TV+ will be taking A Charlie Brown Christmas from behind its pay wall for a limited time, it’s likely that it won’t be and you’ll need a subscription to the streamer in order to watch it. The streaming service is $4.99/month after the seven day free trial.
