It looks like the HBO Max sci-fi drama Raised by Wolves is back and ready for more android action. Directed by Ridley Scott, this war-torn universe was renewed for a second season after receiving positive reviews following its premiere.
Season 2 continues the story of Mother/Lamia (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim) and the children on Kepler-22b. However, new conflicts await the characters at every turn—and not everything shows is suitable for all audiences to see. Here’s what we know about why the series is rated TV-MA.
Raised by Wolves season 2 age rating
With a TV-MA rating for violence, cursing, sexual references, nudity, drinking, cigarette smoking and more, Raised by Wolves it’s likely not suitable for children or young teens. While it’s an insightful show, most episodes tackles complicated issues, like religion and war with very graphic scenes of gore and violence that may prove to be too intense for certain viewers. Not only is this not appropriate for young audiences, but they will likely not understand what’s happening, either.
If you’re searching for a series to enjoy with the family, families with children may get their science fiction fix with shows like Disney+’s the Book of Boba Fett, which is based on the Star Wars franchise. It has aliens, action, adventure, and space exploration. Plus, the excitement of lightsabers and using The Force.
Another fitting alternative could be Stranger Things on Netflix. This kid centered series combines bit of horror and science fiction, but it’s much family friendlier. It includes human test subjects, supernatural creatures, paranormal activity and a scary realm called “The Upside Down.”
If you haven’t watched Raised by Wolves, you can stream the first season on HBO Max. New season 2 episodes of the series premiere Thursday at midnight only on the HBO Max platform.
