Survivor Season 42 continues to churn out great television. Week 2 was a bit quieter than the premier in terms of drama but had some truly funny moments and a decent amount of strategy. When everything wrapped up and Marya Sherron went home, we were treated to yet another preview.
Of course, we shouldn’t expect too much out of these previews. Usually, the Survivor editors do their best to trick the audience with deceptive editing. That said, we can look at them and potentially get some idea of what’s coming next.
What will happen on Survivor Season 42 week 3?
Like last week, we start with something from Maryanne Oketch. It looks like she probably found the Beware Advantage as we hear her say she got “bait and switched.” We also see her in a confessional where it looks like she’s wearing a necklace she hasn’t had previously. Now, there’s not too much to say about her getting an advantage other than that it appears that she finds it with Omar Zahoor. If that’s true, we could have the makings of an alliance between the two Canadiens.
Next up, we see Mike Turner and Daniel Strunk talking about the Beware Advantage Mike found last week. It looks like he’s misplaced it yet again, which isn’t a good sign for his long-term gameplay. The editors don’t usually show someone being this bumbling if they’re going far. That said, it might be similar to last week where he just temporarily misplaced it and the edit is trying to make it seem like a bigger deal than it is.
Finally, we see the Ika tribe struggling in a challenge. It’s unclear exactly what’s happening, but Jeff Probst appears to be calling off the challenge toward the end of the clip. At the very least, Jeff says that it’s something that has “never been done before” in the history of the show. Hopefully, that’s not bad news for one of the players.
Week 3 is shaping up to be, in some respects, historic. That clip of Ika barely holding on in the challenge is reminiscent of the challenge in Kaôh Rōng that saw Caleb Reynolds need to be evacuated for heatstroke. Obviously, that particular aliment is much harder to get in the ocean, but we may see another player going home without being voted out. Make sure to tune in and find out.
