With each passing day, fans of the CBS medical drama series Good Sam are getting nervous about their favorite show’s future. This anxiety is certainly warranted as the show doesn’t seem to be faring well ever since it moved from its initial time slot to one that almost spelled disaster for the show’s viewership. Thankfully, the show was able to bounce back from the sudden change.
Even still, things aren’t looking too good for the CBS drama.

Is Good Sam on CBS renewed for season 2?
Fortunately, as of today, Good Sam isn’t canceled by CBS. But then again, the television network hasn’t renewed the show either, so fans aren’t exactly in the clear just yet.
With networks like The CW issuing their many renewals earlier this week, it’s safe to assume CBS is next in line to announce what other shows they’ll be keeping down the line.
So far, CBS confirmed Young Sheldon, Ghosts, and Survivor will return once again with new seasons. On the other hand, shows like Bull and Love Island, unfortunately, met their end on the network for various reasons including low viewership.
Having all this in mind, Good Sam looks to be one of the many shows currently in limbo. Perhaps its performance will be the deciding factor. How is the show performing, you ask? Well, though the show doesn’t have the worst results, admittedly, it could be better.
According to the show’s reception, Good Sam‘s viewership is slowly decreasing as of late. In comparing the series premiere to the show’s most recent episode, the medical drama dropped by almost 1 million views. Fortunately, these numbers aren’t too devastating as the show’s viewership is still near 2 million. However, if these numbers plummet any further, we may have a cancellation coming soon.
As always, the decision ultimately lies with CBS in the end, so don’t read into the declining viewership too much. After all, Good Sam is pretty well-liked by Rotten Tomatoes. Maybe the good reception will help!
