Hello dearest readers. Today is a most exciting day! Bridgerton season 2 is finally here. We’ve been waiting for the second season since the first one dropped in December 2020. Well now it’s available for our viewing pleasure.
The Netflix period drama is based on an eight-book series by author Julia Quinn. Each book focuses on one Bridgerton sibling and their journey to find love. Of course we all know the first book and season told the story of Daphne and Simon. The second is all about Viscount Anthony Bridgerton.
In season 1, Anthony has an affair with an opera singer, Sienna. The two are in love but their positions divide them and ultimately they can’t be together. As a woman of that time, Sienna needs to find what’s best for her. And that isn’t with Anthony.
Now in season 2, the head of the Bridgerton clan will find himself in a bit of a love triangle between two sisters. Juicy! Everyone’s favorite author, Penelope Featherington, certainly will have a lot to share with the ton.
The second season has many familiar faces, as well as some new ones. So who makes up the cast in Bridgerton season 2?
Bridgerton season 2 cast: who’s returning?
All eight of the lovely Bridgerton siblings we met in season 1 make a comeback in season 2:
- Jonathan Bailey as Anthony
- Luke Thompson as Benedict
- Luke Newton as Colin
- Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne (unfortunately Regé-Jean Page will not be reprising his role as Simon)
- Claudia Jessie as Eloise
- Ruby Stokes as Francesca
- Will Tilston as Gregory
- Florence Hunt as Hyacinth
Their mother Violet Bridgerton, played by Ruth Gemmell, will also be back as the matriarch of the family, and eagerly working to get Anthony the perfect girl.
The brightly-dressed Featheringtons will also be back. The family is now in a dilemma after Lord Featherington died at the end of season 1. Only a man can inherit the family’s fortunes. Who will it be?
The most important member of the family is the one and only Lady Whistledown, Penelope (Nicola Coughlan). Julie Andrews also reprises her role as the narrator. Penelope’s mother Portia (Polly Walker) and two sisters Philippa (Harriet Cains) and Prudence (Bessie Carter) will set their focus on finding suitors.
Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuvel, will determine who the new diamond of the season is, and of course keep tabs on the author who is a mystery to her. Her close friend and professional love-match meddler Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) will be by the queen’s side.

Bridgerton season 2 cast: who’s new?
Bridgerton season 2 brings in multiple new faces. Most notably is the Sharma family – Kate, Edwina, and their mother Mary (Shelley Conn). Since Anthony wants a loveless marriage, he thinks he can do that with Edwina (Charithra Chandran). But this lovely girl has dreams of love. And to complicate it further, sparks start to fly between Anthony and her overprotective older sister Kate (Simone Ashley).
Rupert Evans will also appear in an episode as Edmund Bridgerton, the loving father and husband of the close-knit family. Another new character is printing assistant Theo Sharpe, played by Calam Lynch. The young apprentice works at the print shop that publishes Lady Whistledown’s scandal sheet and catches the attention of Ms. Eloise.
Bridgerton season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
