Whether you’re looking for something the whole family can enjoy, some more mature content, or even a documentary, we’ve got you covered. That’s what’s so great about the streaming service, it has it all! Let’s jump in! Here are some great movies to check out this Easter on Disney+.
Easter movies on Disney Plus
Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade
What better way to start off Easter Sunday than with a favorite for kids – Ice Age. In this movie special, harried mother Ethel entrusts her soon-to-hatch egg to Sid’s new egg-sitting service. But when pirate bunny Squint steals and hides all of the eggs, Manny, Diego, and the gang come to the rescue. The shenanigans lead to the first egg hunt and creation of Easter traditions.
Winnie The Pooh: Springtime With Roo
Spring has arrived in the Hundred Acre Wood, but there’s one rabbit who isn’t in the holiday spirit. While Roo, Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore are excited to celebrate Easter, Rabbit has other ideas. He wants his friends to help him with his spring cleaning instead. While cleaning, the gang finds their favorite Easter things and decide to surprise Rabbit by decorating the house. But the plan backfires and he gets angry. Will they be able to get him into the holiday spirit?
Secrets of Christ’s Tomb: Explorer Special
If you’re a history buff and looking for something related to the religious aspect of the holiday, then this National Geographic documentary might be good for you. The hour-long film follows leading experts as they try to restore the structure of what many believe is Jesus Christ’s tomb in Jerusalem. Scientific tests help to reveal some of the mysteries surrounding the ancient tomb.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
He may not be the Easter bunny, but this is one rabbit who is definitely a fun addition to Easter. This film provided something unique for its time as it combined live action with animation. Toon-hating detective Eddie Valiant is hired to investigate an adultery scandal involving Jessica Rabbit and Roger Rabbit. He is Roger’s only hope to prove his innocence when he’s accused of murder.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
This may be an odd one to add to the list, but hear me out. The author of the books which the movies are based on, C.S. Lewis, has said that King of Beasts Aslan is meant to represent Christ. That’s why it makes for a great Easter movie.
During the World War II bombings of London, four English siblings are sent to a country house where they will be safe. They all eventually get transported to Narnia through a wardrobe they find. They join forces with Aslan in the fight against the evil White Witch. Along with the first film, Disney Plus’ catalog also includes its sequels: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Burrow – 2020
Though this is only a six-minute film, it’s a cute addition to the list. When a young rabbit embarks on a journey to dig the burrow of her dreams, even though she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She digs herself deeper and deeper into trouble before realizing there’s no shame in asking for help. Like all Disney movies, there’s a lesson to be learned.
