If a revenge thriller with a Viking warrior prince piques your interest, then The Northman will be right up your alley.
The Northman comes from the mind of Robert Eggers, who dazzled audiences with his previous two films, 2015’s The Witch and 2019’s The Lighthouse. The titular prince is known as Amleth and is played by Alexander Skarsgård. Amleth will undergo a mission to seek out those who murdered his father.
In addition to Skarsgård, the cast is stacked with Academy Award and Emmy nominees and winners. Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe round out the cast.

When do tickets for The Northman go on sale?
Good news! Tickets are now on sale for The Northman. Check sites like Fandango or AMC Theaters for tickets and showtimes. Like most Friday premieres, there will be showings the night before, April 21. Check your favorite movie app to see if your theater offers Thursday night viewings.
Reviews have started to come in on Twitter, and many users are praising the film’s epicness as well as Eggers’ direction. Matt Neglia of Next Best Picture said it’s “brutal & dazzling with a vast attention to detail” while Rory Cashin of JOE.ie called the film a “tremendous action movie mixed in with some truly haunting moments.
