Abbott Elementary has been a smash-hit for ABC. The workplace comedy has won the hearts of viewers and gained quite the following with each episode that’s premiered.
The series, created by and starring Quinta Brunson, is set at a Philadelphia elementary school where the teachers are struggling to make do with the resources that are available to them. It doesn’t help matters that the principal is prone to spending school funds on herself.
What’s made Abbott Elementary stand out this television season isn’t just its heart but also the show’s attention to real world issues. The struggles the faculty face are akin to the hoops and hurdles real life educators have to navigate in the American school system.
The show has grown so much over its 13 episode run that fans we’ll definitely miss it once the finale airs. Here’s when it’ll premiere!
Abbott Elementary season 1 finale premiere date
The season finale, “Zoo Balloon,” will air Tuesday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
Episode 13 will be full of big choices for the characters. Janine’s world is turned upside down when Tariq announces he’s moving to New York for a job and Barbara starts questioning her future as a teacher when her favorite zoo animal is retired.
Set among the backdrop of a field trip to the zoo, this finale is bound to be a bit chaotic considering a visit to the zoo is a field trip staple that often goes a bit awry. We can’t wait to see how this season ends.
Has Abbott Elementary been renewed for season 2?
Thankfully, “Zoo Balloon” won’t be the last episode we see of Abbott Elementary. The series has been renewed for a second season, so we will be returned to this fan favorite workplace comedy in the next television year!
