We Own This City is a miniseries that will consist of six episodes. Each of these episodes will highlight the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force. Audiences will learn about the corruption of these people in power and everything that took to stop them.

The miniseries is based on the nonfiction book “We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops, and Corruption,” by Justin Fenton, a former crime reporter for Baltimore Sun. So We Own This City truly is based on real events. Series star Jon Bernthal plays center character Wayne Jenkins, a member of the Gun Trace Task Force who was sentenced to 25 years in prison after these events.

We Own This City also stars Wunmi Mosaku, Nicole Steele as an attorney assigned to the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, Jamie Hector as Sean M. Suiter, a BPD homicide detective caught up in the GTTF case, McKinley Belcher III, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Josh Charles, Dagmara Domińczyk, and others.
