When it comes to medical dramas, Transplant stands out for a few great reasons. You want another new episode, but is that happening tonight, Sunday, May 22?
We’ve gone a few weeks so far without new episodes of Transplant. Will that change tonight?
There is some bad news. NBC won’t air a new episode of the series just yet. There isn’t even a rerun on tonight. The network has a two-hour Dateline Weekend Mystery special on instead, which starts at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Why isn’t a new episode of Transplant on tonight?
It’s not clear why the network is putting on specials instead of bringing the medical drama back. We know when the Transplant Season 2 finale date is set, so this is likely the only reason for the delay. However, it doesn’t make sense why there is the delay and a late finale date.
It’s not like the pandemic filming protocols are getting in the way of this series. The Canadian drama has already aired all episodes on CTV. They are ready to run, so what is NBC doing?
When will new episodes of Transplant return?
We still don’t have a return date for the series just yet. However, what we do know is that there won’t be a new episode next Sunday, May 29. Instead of the medical drama, we’ll get a rerun of American Ninja Warrior.
There are still five episodes of the series still to air. There may need to be two-hour episodes some of the weeks depending on when NBC brings the show back. It’s going to have to come back sometime in June.
The good news is that Canada has already renewed Transplant for Season 3. Now we’re just waiting to see whether NBC will acquire the season or not. We’re pretty confident it’s going to happen.
