NBC’s longest-running series, Days of Our Lives, has been entertaining audiences for more than 55 years. The soap opera is currently on its 57th season and is still going strong.
Days of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. The main families the story follows are the Bradys, Hortons, and DiMeras. The multi-layered storylines explore all of life’s aspects including romance, adventure, mystery, comedy and, of course, drama.
The series first started out as a half-hour drama in 1965, then turned into hour-long episodes a decade later. The show is produced by Corday Productions, Inc., in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ron Carlivati is the head writer behind the long-standing series.

When do new episodes of Days of Our Lives air on NBC?
Typically, new episodes of Days of Our Lives air everyday of the week, except on weekends. So you can expect to see brand new episodes on weekdays.
This week, the schedule is a little bit different. New installments are only being broadcast on May 31 and June 1. It’s not really known why NBC chose to do this.
On Tuesday’s episode, Will urges Sonny to report Leo to the police. Someone catches Belle and EJ sharing a kiss. Abigail asks Chad if he wants to have another child, while Xander and Sarah have an emotional breakthrough.
Then on Wednesday, the episode’s synopsis reveals Belle will ask Shawn to sign a separation agreement, and Nicole encourages EJ to pursue Belle. Elsewhere, Jan looks for help from Marlena, while Ciara has a special request for Rafe.
The week of June 6 will see the show going back to its regular schedule. Here’s a breakdown of when to expect new episodes:
