Raise your hands if you’ve binge-watched Stranger Things season 4 volume 1! Once, twice, or even more by now? The almost three year wait was difficult for us fans, but it was definitely worth the wait!
Though volume 2 isn’t out yet, some of us are already thinking about the future of the series. Back in February, Netflix announced the hit show was renewed for a fifth and final season. Creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, have envisioned a four to five season story for a long time.
The end is near, but we still have some time before we have to say goodbye. So when can we expect to see Stranger Things season 5?
When is Stranger Things season 5 coming to Netflix?
We don’t have an exact release date for the Netflix hit’s fifth season yet. But there is some good news! According to Variety, the creators said the wait between seasons 4 and 5 shouldn’t take almost three years once again. Phew! They didn’t specify how long the gap would be, but at least we know it’s not going to take three years.
During the pandemic when all productions were shut down, the Duffer Brothers had some extra time to outline season 5. So the ending of season 4 will “dovetail directly” into the last installment of Stranger Things.
It’s great to hear that the creative team already knows how the show is going to end. And they were able to keep that in mind as they were crafting and working on season 4. It really helps to have a vision of the end point, so everything you do – especially in the penultimate season – makes sense heading into the final chapter. It will certainly be bittersweet, but I’m positive the genius Duffer Brothers will deliver an amazing final season!
Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Volume 2 is set to drop on the streaming service on July 1.
